Conroy to Coach USAW's Rogue Training Camps

Columbus OH: Idaho Weightlifting's Head Coach, Michael Conroy has been named to two USA Weightlifting Training Camps at the Rogue Training Facility July 31st to August 8th. 

The first camp (7/31-8/3) will be made up of selected Youth Level Athletes while the second camp (8/3-8/8) will be a mixture of Junior and Open age group athletes.

Conroy will be joined by USAW Director of Grassroots Programs & Scouting Suzy Sanchez. 

The goals of the camps are to assess the athletes through twice a day training that allows USAW to make suggesstions that will assist the athletes in improving their performances once they return home from the camps.

Conroy, who is a USAW International Coach, worked with the USAW National Junior Squad Camps from 1991 until 2004 and was USAW Director of Coaching Education from 2012 until 2018.

Sanchez is a former USAW World Championships Team Member as well as a National Champion and American Record Holder in the former 48kg class.

Following the two Rogue Camps Conroy will fly out the the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for two Masters Camps August 8th to the 17th.

Pullman WA: October 13th and 14th are the dates for the USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coaching Course to be held in The Bohler Sports Complex at Washington State University.

This will mark the 22nd consecutive year that Michael Conroy has instructed this, particular, course.

"You will not find a better facility, to hold our coaching course", begins Conroy, who has been a instructor in the USAW Coaching Education Program since 1995.

Conroy to Coach at USAW Masters Camp at USOC OTC

Colorado Springs CO Idaho Weightlifting's Michael Conroy has been selected as one of the coaches for the 2, annual, Masters Training Camps to be held August 7th to the 17th at the USOC OTC in Colorado Springs.

Conroy will join the staff that includes 3x Olympic Champion Pyrros Dimas (GRE) who is the Technical Director for USAW, Olympic Bronze Medalist Cheryl Haworth (USA), former US Resident Coach and Olympic Champion Zygmunt Smalcerz (POL) and World Team Member and American Record Holder Jackie Black (USA).

Corbett Earns USAW National Referee Credential

Ogden UT: Patrick Corbett, left, has become only the second, ever, USAW National Referee for the Idaho Local Weightlifting Committee by meeting the requirements at the 2018 University/U-25 National Championships held April 19-22.  He joins Michael Conroy, right, who earned his credential in 1995.
